LATE ARRIVALS
While I cannot guarantee results or diagnose a medical condition, massage therapy can treat symptoms and help with range of motion and reduce chronic pain. Results tend to last a few hours at first but the duration of relief tends to increase with each session. More importantly, the holistic use of postural alignment, movement therapy, and ergonomic adjustments in your everyday life will almost always help with chronic pain patterns. Massage therapy is only a part of the equation.
Yes, I use T-bars, cupping, hot stones, muscle scrapers, foam rollers, yoga blocks in creative and innovative ways to access the layers of muscle and soft-tissue that can form adhesions and create "knots" and trigger points in the body.
Your first session begins with a brief conversation about your goals, health history, and any areas of tension or discomfort. We’ll also discuss whether the session will be done clothed or if undressing (to your comfort level) is recommended for the most effective work. During this time, I’ll also inform you about our cancellation policy and ensure you understand our client procedures. I’ll then step out to give you privacy to get settled, and I’ll knock before re-entering the room. Throughout the session, I’ll check in with you on temperature, face cradle comfort, bolster placement, and even the music—your comfort is a priority from start to finish.
After the massage, I’ll step out again so you have a few minutes to regroup and get dressed. When you’re ready, just open the door and we’ll complete a short post-session assessment. This may include guided movement, stretching, or self-massage techniques you can use at home. If helpful, we can even record a quick video or take photos to support your self-care between sessions. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, as I’m happy to provide answers to any massage FAQs.
Getting undressed is always optional, and it's a key part of our cancellation policy to ensure you're comfortable with our client procedures. I recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing such as workout clothes or comfortable shorts. Many treatments can be performed effectively while you are clothed, allowing for easy movement during assessment and the performance of exercises or stretches. If I need to access your skin for a treatment, I will always ask for your consent, and draping will always be used to cover the body. For more details, feel free to check our massage FAQs.
Some techniques may feel intense, especially on tight areas, but you’re encouraged to speak up at any time so we can adjust the pressure according to your comfort. I am always monitoring how you breathe and looking for non-verbal clues like holding your breath, tensing up, cold sweats, or wincing. I use all these signals to gauge whether we can work deeper or not. If you want more pressure or less pressure, please let me know, and if you don't like the technique or the methods I'm using, please don't hesitate to say something. Quite often, clients express thoughts like, 'it's intense but in a good way' or 'it's intense but please continue because it feels effective.' Remember, the cancellation policy is in place to ensure your needs are met, so don’t hesitate to communicate. The goal is not to cause you pain; it's about therapeutic change that you can tolerate while still breathing through. For any inquiries or to clarify client procedures, please review our massage FAQs.
It's totally up to you. Some clients enjoy talking during their massage sessions, while others prefer a quiet, meditative experience. Your comfort is always respected, and you're welcome to choose the level of conversation that feels right for you. In line with our cancellation policy, we encourage you to communicate any changes in your preferences as soon as possible. That said, even in quiet sessions, I need to check in occasionally to adjust pressure, confirm comfort, or guide you through specific movements and breathing patterns. I may also ask you to engage certain muscles or shift your position to assess how you're feeling. This aligns with our client procedures to ensure an effective experience. Clear, respectful communication, along with our massage FAQs, helps create the most personalized bodywork possible.
Massage is for every body, and we ensure you will be treated with care, respect, and professionalism at all times. Your comfort is our top priority, which is why we encourage you to review our client procedures and massage FAQs before your appointment. Undressing is absolutely not required; however, please wear comfortable, un-restrictive clothing as it can be very difficult to work around zippers, buttons, and multiple layers of clothing. Additionally, please familiarize yourself with our cancellation policy to avoid any surprises.
Hydrate well before and after your session, avoid large meals right before, and wear comfortable clothes. There's no need to bring anything special unless you have self-massage tools at home; feel free to bring them along, and I'd be happy to show you how to use them effectively. For more information, please review our client procedures and refer to the massage FAQs regarding our cancellation policy.
That’s completely normal and a sign that your body is relaxing. Many clients drift off during the session—and that’s okay! This aligns with our client procedures, and remember, snoring is a compliment for me! If you have any questions, feel free to check our massage FAQs. Also, don’t forget to review our cancellation policy, just in case you need it.
It depends on your goals. Some people benefit from weekly sessions, while others find monthly visits more effective. If you are preparing for a sports event, we need to carefully plan your sessions, allowing enough recovery time. It's important to note that deep tissue massage is not recommended within 24 hours of competition due to client procedures related to optimal performance. I can help you create a plan that works for your body and schedule, as well as address any massage FAQs you may have.
Tipping is not required because gratuity is not customary for healthcare services. Instead of tipping, consider booking future sessions, referring friends, or leaving a Google review if you enjoyed your experience. Just to be clear, my tipping policy does not apply to all massage therapists. So if you see another massage therapist, check with them on their tipping guidance. Additionally, for more information on client procedures and clarification about our cancellation policy, you can check out my blog post: Gratuity Guidance: Should You Tip Your Massage Therapist? It also covers some massage FAQs that might interest you.
Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you, and understanding our cancellation policy is important. Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule to respect other clients and allow them the opportunity to schedule.
A credit card is required to secure your appointment, but you will not be charged at the time of booking. Payment is collected after your session. According to our client procedures, appointments canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours' notice, as well as missed appointments, will incur a $45 cancellation fee, charged to the card on file.
I understand that unexpected circumstances arise and may make exceptions at my discretion.
Thank you for respecting my time. For more information, please refer to the massage FAQs.
The story of the Bodhi Tree, also known as the Bo Tree, is deeply rooted in Buddhism and intricately tied to the enlightenment of Siddhartha Gautama, who later became the Buddha. According to legend, Siddhartha was a prince who renounced his luxurious life in search of spiritual awakening and the end of suffering. As part of his journey, he would have appreciated clear client procedures similar to how businesses outline their cancellation policies today.
For 49 days, Siddhartha sat under the fig tree identified as the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya, India, making a vow not to rise until he attained enlightenment. On a full moon night, after deep meditation, he achieved this state, gaining profound insights into existence, the causes of human suffering, and the path to liberation. This philosophical understanding might even address some of the common massage FAQs regarding relaxation and well-being.
The Bodhi tree, under which Buddha attained enlightenment, holds immense significance for Buddhists around the world. It symbolizes wisdom, enlightenment, and the potential for all beings to awaken to their true nature. Today, a descendant of the original Bodhi tree still stands in Bodh Gaya, remaining a sacred site for Buddhists to visit and meditate.
